Lumachella Rosata
Europe
saw cut, honed, brushed

Lumachella Rosata or Rosa is a very porous limestone of Spanish origin. The name Lumachella litterally means “little snail” and is due to the presence of some fossils with this shape in the stone. Lumachella Rosata is a very soft stone and because of its accentuated porosity cannot be resinated. The reccomanded finishings are rough, honed or brushed. It is widely used in outdoor environments and is an excellent material not only for the creation of floors or claddings, but is also widely used for furnishing accessories, such as vases or fountains. Lumachella Rosata is very similar to the Finale Ligure stone, a stone of Italian origin with a slightly lighter pink color.
