Blue Onyx

The Blue Onyx is one of the most valuable and sought after onyxes. The blocks of Original Blue Onyx are very rare and have a very soft color which is then artificially reinforced with colored resins on the back of the slabs. The blocks come from Iran and are usually small to medium in size. During processing, the blocks are always treated with resin and reinforced before sawing, in addition, also the slabs are resined to maximize their technical qualities before the polishing. Ziche Marmi resins all the Blue Onyx slabs using vacuum technology and epoxy resins at the modern factory in Brescia (Italy). This high-quality process heals most of the natural micro-fractures of the slabs. Onyx Blue is used for valuable decorative elements, often exploiting its transparency in uses with suggestive backlighting. It is often combined with white marble, especially those from Carrara area.
