Quarry of Botticino marble: Paine | ZICHE - The Marble

Paine quarry is certainly one of the biggest marble quarries in Italy and the biggest extraction site in the Botticino basin. The quarry is located on the Mount Paine, in the North of Italy near Brescia.
The quarrying of the site began in the 18th century and currently covers an area of 200,000 square metres. The quarry is developed on 17 levels and each one is about 300-400 metres long.

The modality of extraction assures the contemporary availability of multiple layers with different peculiarities of shades and veining. The excellent quality material extracted belongs to the category of Botticino Classico, Botticino Semiclassico, Botticino Fiorito, Botticino Cremo and Botticino Extra White.
