Bianco Perlino, also known as White Perlino or Biancone from Asiago, is a marble is extracted in the Asiago mountains in the Province of Vicenza (Italy). It is a historic Italian marble, used for countless projects and characterized by a light background and delicate gray-green veins. The quarries of Bianco Perlino are mostly open-air and have good productivity. The height of the quarry layers (bancate) is normally between 40 cm and 70 cm, but rarely the thickness exceeds 100 cm up to 180 cm. In these cases, the blocks can be cut perpendicularly to the vein, and the material is thus called “vein-cut”. In this type of sawing all the slabs in the block have the same vein-pattern with horizontal veins. Bianco Perlino Vein Cut is used with various finishes for internal and external floors, for thresholds, tiles, stairs, walls, claddings, .. Among the various finishes, the most used are polished, honed and brushed. Only the latter enhances the veins of the material by digging them gently and giving an ancient appearance to the surface.
